Dancing Queen

I’ve lived in the Dark-
For half of my Life,
Shifting around the corners;
Letting the spiders weave on me.

While Watching the ventilator,
Staring at that streak-
I realized how the dust traveled,
Despite the size of that creek..!!

My agonies have already-
Broken me into pieces;
Collecting all the shards,
I flew out bit by bit.

Upon stepping out, In place of rains,
I found myself standing in a harsh sunny noon.
Coming in contact with the open air,
The stink left; the one that was rotting my being.

With broken Chains still attached as anklets,
They clank aloud with every beat..
I am letting them do the music for me-
Dancing the shackles, with my dancing feet.

    Hello, Olivia!

You’ve made a lot of noise with this one. Well-described!
I love it when I can hear someone’s vision.
Dance away, and I’ll beat it 😉

That last line is just incredible! There is such a contrast between shackles and dancing, but you make it into a celebration.

Phhheeww.. that was heavy stuff! And damn good! The weight of those chains (and I mean figuratively) comes bearing down on one’s soul indeed!!
The last stanza was deadly and powerful!
Superbly written, Liv!! And so so so apt for this week’s theme at Poetry Potluck!!! Thank youuuuuuuuuu!!! mwaahhzz!

After reading the back story, this made the poem even more enlightening…and more admirable. To dance, even while constricted, is actually a beautiful gift to a soul.

Thank you Dear Talon- I so appreciate your reading so close.. 🙂
Yes, I am currently in a state to learn the art of dancing even while being constricted.. I wish to master the art well and soon..

    This speaks to me, Olivia!
I have given so much of myself(mother, wife, daughter, neighbor) that I was imprisoned, unable to be myself. Recently, I said “No More”, of course we do not completely cut away our loved ones…they are now only chains that make music. I refuse to remain confined!

You are so welcome My Dear.. I so appreciate your stopping by and commenting.. 🙂 I see what you say. We really tend to absolve ourselves so much in mundane things that we don’t realize until we are lost in it deep- All the Best for breaking away.. Make merry, make music..

Beautiful photo prompt to go with your thought provoking poem. It is interesting though her eyes are covered, still a part remains mysterious and not a total reveal. Have to come back and read your bio, so I may have a glimpse of you that you so bravely penned. It is a difficult thing to do and even more difficult to see the shadows that bind us.

      Joanny Dear,
I am touched.. you noticed so much more than just the words alone- Thank you for your kind words. Yes, it’s my Life and some part sill remains as mystery.. you are so sweet.. Let me cover all the invitations and then I’ll pick up one by one and come to your poem too..
My eyes are now closed since I am indifferent- heartless to certain degree.. and hence won’t look and consider. I’ll dance my own music now..

      Happy Monday Sweetheart.. Love.. xoxox

Provocative. The idea of living chained to the dark (which I am assuming symbolizes the unknown) and experiencing the light as “the harsh sunny light” was a great multifaceted image that redefines your symbolism. It was an enjoyable poem in the sense that the picture of your chained feet still dancing left the reader with a sense of hopeful sadness, as if watching a very slow tragedy. Thanks for posting,

I so loved reading you again.. wonderful observation.. This one is about my Life till before I decided to compile my biography and blogging. How I had stayed confined within myself and how I decided to come out and get pierced with judgements while readers reading my words- here’s the link to my Biography
You’ve already observed one perspective.. this was the 2nd one- 😀
I now write about my experiences and gather comments.. 😀

Actually, I read through great big swaths of your bio yesterday. Found you to be a brave & honest author willing to take a few punches if it means getting the story right. I am not all the way through it yet, but fuckin’ amazing that you could take your entire life and transpose it onto the page in your own style. Lot of sadness there, but I didn’t detect a whole lot of cynicism in the sense that. I would recommend reading “You Remind Me Of You” by Eireann Corrigan as a great way to merge such bloody biographical details in poetic format; if you are interested (no worries if not.) Either way, you are a good writer, and whatever raw material of life you have to work from is intense.

Here comes what I do the best- word by word- analysis- LOLsss
I appreciate your calling me honest.. but author..? I am overwhelmed. I am still writing lot of sh*t is yet to come.
As I said, through my writing I am wanting to do a lot of things- few of them are posted in Bloody Relationships (my main Blog)
Your saying the transposing my Life Experience in my own words as amazing is very big a compliment for me.
I only smirk at my ability to criticize my ownself the same time while I am depicting my helplessness. Through my own writing; I am learning lessons of my life. Maybe if you go through the I,ME,Myself part, you would know a lot about my present day mind.. aah enough of blowing my trumpets now..
I so Thank you for reading me and appreciating. Not many could do that. They do read- but don’t comment. Scared, inhibited..!!

            – Bless you –
