Burning Soul

~*~*~

~*~*~

For years
I have screamed-
Sitting atop the crematorium furnace.

Willowing
At the fumes of the burning deads.

Now
I wish to go mute
Sleeping through the Eternity!

Submitted for Sunday 160

Thank you Rachel! We all do get to pass through that spot- only a few share about it! Often, the darkness swallows us whole..

Should I be scared that the darkness of this poem appeals to me? In any case, I like it. I don’t like movies that are dark or frightening (ex. vampire movies like Twilight), but that theme appeals to me when it comes to the written word.

I’m happy to be on Potluck again! 🙂

    Olivia, dear, how darkly evocative.

Sorry I haven’t been by enough. So busy, busy with NaNo and other stuff. But not an excuse.

I hope you are having alot of fun with it, not stressing. Let me know how you are doing and what your thoughts are now that we care into Day Nine and moving forward.

    Smile and be happy.

    Peace and Hugs,
    Jamie

Tell me about it- I am like completely lost. Already panicking.. I used to write about 3000 words almost everyday. It all got staggered ever since I joined the Potluck- LOLsss. Posting invites for two days takes the entire mind out of me- I mean reading atleast 200 poems in 2 days.. I guess I’ll turn into a live “poemer”- “poeming” even while speaking.. hahaha

I am enjoying big time with such. My friend had been here day before so am completely drained now. Since I have stayed alone ever since; it become really hectic to adjust and adapt.. So I am like lost in a trans state- since yesterday evening..

I am writing tit bits- one mind says this, the other- that. So I am scribbling both 😛 The idea is to write and I am not letting the tempo go!

      Smiles- xoxox

But then ‘Dead’ may not be sleeping thorugh eternity.. we need to be careful about what we ask for.. well as a poem.. a verse.. beautiful and deep.. keep writing..

      Hello Rameshji,

I wanting to rest and be at peace is what I mean here. As in not bothering with keeping awake and hence even alive.. I say I go dead while sleeping and hence the expression.. 🙂

Very cleverly constructed, Olivia. I like the phrase ‘go dead’ – neat.
Um, I might be tempted to leave the exclamation mark out tho…might keep it even creepier?
