Sitting pretty-
On a glass shelf,
Figurine porcelain;
Oh so Fragile!
Placed delicately,
As a masterpiece-
Poets’ Muse,
Viewers’ Delight.
Timeless Beauty,
A great rarity;
Legendary Tales-
Enchased in History..
Celebrated across-
With Joy n Pride,
Critiques’ Laud;
Worshipped as God!

    Ah, a delicate poem! I’m in my Grandmas castle, falling apart, blowing the dust off family heirlooms lurking on the mantle.

    It’s super!

    great write! It’s amazing how sometimes we so much wish to protect those who we look up to that we make the characteristics that we liked so much an alien notion than something familiar that we can obtain or already possess.

      That’s right Anthony!
      At times we make them sound absolutely un- attainable n un- achievable!!

      sigh..
      I wanted to give it a twist how it may break apart in just one shake- then I left it at Fragile!

    Olivia,
    Those who did not idolize, were damned.
    In a corner
    Solitary, they must not look on!
    A vantage point,
    A view of the muse.

    What a wonderful poem! I do believe, however, being left up on a shelf would be rather boring. Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2011/03/07/lessons-from-my-mother/

    my most prized possesion is a 1st edition book pf poetry by longfellow. I have never understood the quest of things that people idolize to the point of madness, when our real things are love, hope, & kindness. Your poem made me go, “excatly!”
    I loved it.

    Admired by many, but left on the shelf,
    Reflecting each visitor’s inner self,
    Placed prominently to be always in sight,
    Fragile and delicate, the viewer’s delight!

    Very nicely done, Olivia!

    Girl… really, this is perfectly perfect!! Sincerely!!
    By keeping it generic, you have said it all too well… we worship so many things… we idolize so many people for so many different things… it’s hard to pin point any one 🙂
    Yes.. they are there.. on that pedestal… smiling at us… waiting to be adored! 🙂

    Mwwahhzz to you, lady!!

      Kavz Dear,

      As agreed upon mutually, I won’t try n Thank you; but definitely, I love the way you make me do these! The little secret is out- if you had not “insisted”; I would have lost an opportunity to feel this nice this morning..

      This time I had tried a different way of writing this one- usually I write big sentences with lot of characterizations.. It was way too different. Honestly, I had wanted to do this since long; wasn’t sure I could!

      So once again a it’s biggie what has happened here with my words. I guess I do well under pressure (as in when made to do types).. Oh boy! and when I am sulking.. lolss

      Loads of Mwaahs right back at you
      Hugs xoxox
