Doomsday’s close by,
Killing my hopes,
Closing all doors;
Tearing our souls apart!

I’m trapped in a death spell-
Marking my fall,
Crushing my heart,
Alongwith its beat too!

Dreaming is forbidden,
Speech’s muted,
Figures singed;
Eyes are forked blind.

A bottomless pit,
With spinning vortex
Inside a black- hole!
I’m ’bout done wandering here!

    I’d be done wandering too; forked eyes, blind. Yepper, I’d be gone. Great lines and skill with words, environment and purpose. Loved it.

    Holy moly – Lived there in that dark place for years and I am happy to report I found my way out and hope I never return there again. What a powerful piece you have written here. Finding one’s happiness is paramount.

      You said it Kristen!
      Indeed, it’s dark and dingy out there. a cooped up place yet stretching endlessly! I am snapping hard to come out of it myself.. almost out now..

    Wow, that’s dark and powerful Olivia! I like the line with ‘eyes foked blind’ especially.

      Jun 08, 2011 @ 19:52:07

      Thanks Mary! Wanted this to be really conveying the darkness.. What better or worse than being unable to see.. hence the forking part!

    You convey the darkness and hopelessness all too well. I love how you wove in the “eye” prompt as well. (And I like your picture much better!)

    What a fabulous write… thank you for stopping by to share over at my blog. I agree with travelling a ‘nomadic life’… I too lost my parents at a young age (my dad at 18, my mother at 21)… I dealt pretty well with the first as he had not been much of a parent due to mental illness, but the loss of my mother was quite significant for me.

    I believe, though there are times when we must experience more difficulties than we feel we can manage, it is those times that lend strength and appreciation to all of the days of our lives. It’s always nice to hear from similar souls.

      Hey Petrina.. you are a sweetheart!

      I agree with what you have said. It’s the difficult times that make us a better human being! Indeed it feels great to connect with the like minded people.. blessed are we.. 🙂
      Many Hugs n Love xoxox

    At first I thought it was my eyes, with the wings and hair moving, but then I know I am Olivia’s blog and nothing but perfection in what ever you do. Awesome pic.
    The poem ah the bittersweet loss of hope and doubts departing on the winds of promise. Truly unique and captivating poetry.
