Memories scattered on the sand,
like hollow shells embedded…
Some deeper; others on shore,
reflecting the sun in my face!
Walking down the wet earth,
none of them pricked my feet…
Mutely they buried themselves,
shying away from touching me.
Each one a different; story to tell,
today the fables were awashed-
Barren they lay exposed,
as the waves crashed in on them…
All the broken pieces found a maze
to fit into, emptying the chest off my being;
it slipped the grit beneath
from wherever my weight stood…
Bending to collect a few carcasses,
I let a wild sigh escape-
hearing my call, an unheard voice…
the waters rushed in joy.
Almost carrying me alongwith;
a cry from the otherworld stopped me frozen,
this wasn’t in my dream…
Is my destiny being re-written?
