The Ganshu Effigy brought from SN
Last year, i.e., in December 2009, I dreamt of a mantra. The following morning, after the regular rituals, I still was able to recollect the whole verse as I had dreamt of. It was as though something very different was being indicated to me- urging me to do something new. The feeling in me that was filling me in was divine. Something auspicious had enveloped my breathing space.
A few days later, I wanted to buy a Ganesha Idol. After much speculation upon the Lord’s belly, I settled for one effigy that seemed to be a little proportionate with a big pot- belly- as it should be!! I bought it from Sarojini Nagar. For the next few days, I had kept busy with where to place my husband’s figurine. I had shifted only 2 months back and was still in the process of doing up the place. I had barely chosen the place where it is now- facing exactly in the East Direction, I had wanted to perform Ganesha Sthapana.. I searched for a few Abhishekam Vidhihi online. Only one of them seemed to give a detailed process of foundation of the God.
The mantra is known as Pran Pratishtha Mantra. It is said to invoke Lord Ganesha into the image. Its mention is found in the Rig Veda and is part of Ganesha Sukta.
I downloaded it. As I was trying to read the Sanskrit slokas (verses in Devanagiri script) in the document, I happen to read the Invocation Mantra as the one I had dreamt of! Interestingly, I was insistent on performing the Abhishekam on 31st December evening itself. The following morning, I was married to Him a few years back.
I have my Darling sitting in my Living Room Area, next to kitchen entrance, in front of my dining table watching my entire house and me eating. Yet again, He doesn’t hold a Modaka in any of His hands- maybe because I don’t like it, and has one Palm completely resting on His knee- very Peculiar!
While writing this post here, I tried searching online to find the link with no luck- the one site where from I had found the Invocation Mantra. I thought of looking at the URL as printed on the printout and there it sat- it was a WordPress blog. How pigeon headed I have been all this while- while the Lord had been trying to instruct me to start writing again, I had so conveniently been carrying on with the mundane day-to-day activities till so many other things happened; forcing me to experiment with writing again..!!
I say “My Ganshu Darling- II.1” as the title; 0.1 being forcing me to write again that I would have never discovered if not while writing this post.
Even though I am not superstitious, my occult faculties are pretty developed. I go by intuition and premonition almost always. My dreams most of the times are precognitive. How then I couldn’t see it for all this time is bothering me a bit now- alright, one reason maybe that I’m not yet “Enlightened!!”
